A private collector asked us to move a fully-restored 1968 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 from his North London garage to a Sydney showroom. The car is irreplaceable, the customer wanted zero risk and full visibility. Here is how we did it.

The brief

Door-to-door, sole-use container, museum-grade tie-down, full agreed-value marine insurance at £180,000 declared value, and weekly photo updates from collection through to delivery.

The execution

We collected on a covered transporter, loaded into a freshly-inspected 20ft container at Southampton with four-corner soft straps and wheel chocks, sealed in front of the owner, and sailed direct on a 38-day rotation to Port Botany. Sydney customs cleared in 5 working days under the carnet de passage and the car was delivered to the showroom on day 48.

What the customer paid

Total project cost: £6,950 including UK collection, container, ocean freight, insurance at 1.1% of declared value, Australia quarantine inspection and showroom delivery.
